Investigation of the effects of relatively low doses of gamma rays (cobalt-60) on polyphenoloxidase activity in tomato seeds

Tomato seeds were exposed to gamma radiation in doses of 2 to 16 kR and polyphenoloxidase activity was determined. Results indicated a significant increase in enzyme activity with a 2 kR dose and diminished activity with increasing doses. Graphs are presented to show dose-response relationships. (HLW)
