On April 9-14, 1989 in Dallas, Texas the Division of Fuel Chemistry of the American Chemical Society presented symposia on Ash Deposition and Diamonds Derived from Fuels at the 197th ACS National Meeting. Topics for the symposium on ash deposition included mineral and deposit definition and characterization, mineral matter transformations during combustion, and mineral matter phenomena. Other topics included the chemistry of diamond chemical vapor deposition, the lubricity properties of jet fuels, and catalysts for coal liquefaction. 36 abstracts are presented.
