  1. National Hydrogen Association, Washington, DC (US)
The National Hydrogen Association (NHA) was formed in 1989 to develop U.S. industrial and research interest in hydrogen as an energy carrier; to develop plans for appropriate research and development; and to assess business opportunities in hydrogen production, transport, storage and utilization. In mid-1990, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the NHA began a multi-year cooperative project to evaluate hydrogen-related technologies and their application. The NHA's Technology Review Committee has been created to steer this project. The Hydrogen Technology Assessment has several components: Summaries of hydrogen-related technologies; Major U.S. hydrogen research programs; Hydrogen application strategies; and Conclusions and recommendations. This paper presents a summary of the Phase 1 efforts. The many references and the complete results are contained in the Phase 1 report, available from the NHA.
