Title: High bandwidth analog applications of photonics II; Proceedings of the Meeting, Boston, MA, Sept. 8, 9, 1988

Conference ·
OSTI ID:5137485

Papers are presented on high bandwidth analog applications of photonics, covering topics such as optical fiber ring resonators as fast energy impulse sensors, a self-referencing multiplexing technique for fiber optic sensors, fast-response pressure sensing, the use of high-frequency resonant sensing heads with intensity sensors, fiber optic velocity interferometry, a fast radiation-to-coherent light converter, and neutron-damaged GaAs X-ray detectors. Other topics include laser diodes for analog fiber optic diagnostics systems, a high bandwidth 1300-nm recording system, a high bandwidth 1300-nm Mach-Zehnder analog link, fast fiber optic data using Cerenkov radiation, reflectively-tapped fiber delay lines for wideband signal processing, and a spark gap trigger monitor system. Also, consideration is given to high-speed analog avalanche photodiode receivers, a 1.3-micron InGaAsP/InP double carrier confine structure semiconductor laser, high-frequency GaAs bulk acoustooptic devices, an optical streak camera, and a photon-counting, subnanosecond, imaging camera for X-ray detection.
