Existence of finite-action solutions to the Coleman--de Luccia equations

In this addendum to an earlier paper of ours, we prove that a nontrivial solution to the Coleman--de Luccia equations exists with the correct boundary conditions for tunneling out of de Sitter space whenever V''( phi/sub 1/)>(4kappa/3)V(0). The nontrivial solution possesses an action which is finite but which may be larger or smaller than that of the homogeneous Hawking-Moss solution.
