This paper reports on a technical focal point for RG and E's R. E. Ginna Station's comprehensive maintenance improvement program is an extensive reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) project. Begun early in 1988, Ginna's RCM project includes a formal analysis of 26 of 48 plant systems. The initial RCM project formal analysis scope of 21 systems is complete with analysis of an additional five systems scheduled for completion by August 1991. Approximately 1300 individual component maintenance requirement changes have been identified and approved as a result of the RCM analysis. Approximately 25 percent of these changes have been completed with the expectation of having 85 percent implemented by the end of 1991.
