This report summarizes the activities of the Radiological Sciences Department for the calendar year 1954. The report differs from its predecessors in that the subject matter is not arranged on an organizational or functional basis. Instead, an attempt has been made to bring together the many segments into which a problem is divided and place it with the radiation protection activity from which it arose. This is not completely and uniformly possible throughout the narrative as some research findings may have multiple applications and problems are not necessarily unique to a single radiation protection situation. Nevertheless, it is believed this approach will provide the reader with a more coherent account of the diverse activities and accomplishments the department experienced during the year. 2 tabs.
