In the development of a fluidized bed drying technology, one observes cases of spontaneous ignition of deposits of flotation concentrate in the reactor and the optimal temperature of the spent heat carrier (not above the design value) is maintained in the equipment, spontaneous ignition of the dust should not occur. The causes of ignition may be deviations from the assigned regime and an increase in the temperature in the system over 200/sup 0/C, impairment of the stability of the fluidization, and deposits of coal on the gas distribution grid. An analysis of the thermograms of ignition of samples in a bed showed that the temperature in the combustion zone reached over 800/sup 0/C. Since spontaneous ignition of air mixtures of the finest classes may occur at 560-630/sup 0/C, there is a possibility of explosion hazard during ''eddying'' of deposits of dry dust by hot heat carrier.
