The concentration profiles for hydrogen peroxides and organic peroxides in a hexane flame front are examined in order to determine the contribution of these substances to the oxygen balance of the flame. The sum of the reactions that give rise to the peroxides are derived from experiments. Polarograms for samples from various points in a hexane flame front are taken. Peroxide distributions are determined to be due to the distribution of the radical concentrations in the preflame region. It is evident that the contribution of the peroxides to the oxygen balance is slight.
