Documentation is provided in this report for the closeout of IE Bulletin 85-01 regarding steam binding of auxiliary feedwater pumps for certain pressurized water reactors (PWRs) in nuclear power facilities. Individual facility closeouts are based on the implementation and verification of the three actions required by the bulletin. Evaluation of utility responses and NRC/Region inspection reports indicates that the bulletin is closed for 44 (92%) of the 48 facilities to which it was issued for action. Followup items are proposed for the use of NRC regional inspectors in ensuring satisfactory completion of required actions for the four facilities with open bulletin status. Conclusions are summarized in accordance with Generic Letter 88-03, which announced the NRC Staff's resolution of Generic Issue 93 on the subject of this bulletin. 6 refs.
