Passive solar homes: owner involvement with solar system functioning and satisfaction

Rationale for solar living, functioning of solar features, and satisfaction with exteriors and interiors are investigated in this paper. Twenty-eight families responded. Most found their homes were fairly comfortable year round. Satisfaction with the general interior, exterior, and overall features was evident. Unanticipated benefits included an increased awareness of nature and natural lighting, the comfortable interior environments and feelings of independence.
