Phase-shift analysis of data on NN scattering at 590 MeV

A phase-shift analysis was carried out of the data on elastic NN scattering at an energy 590 MeV. As initial parameter values we used six solutions for T = 1 and three solutions for T = 0 obtained previously by various authors. We found two solutions which are satisfactory on the basis of a chi/sup 2/ test. From them on the basis of a set of other criteria one was discarded. The remaining solution has a high inelasticity in the partial amplitude of the 3p/sub 0/ wave, which agrees with the hypothesis of a 3p/sub 0/ diproton resonance.
