A search for the acetylene (C{sub 2}H{sub 2}) {nu}3 infrared vibration-rotation absorption near 3 microns toward the Becklin-Neugebauer source in the Orion molecular cloud is reported. The relative abundance of C{sub 2}H{sub 2}/CO in the quiescent gas is less than 0.003. 19 refs.
