Magnetic moments of baryons in broken spin--unitary-spin symmetry

We discuss the symmetry-breaking effects on the magnetic moments of uncharmed baryons in the SU(6) framework. The recently observed low value of the magnetic moment of ..sigma../sup +/ is found to be compatible with the magnetic moments of ..lambda.. and ..xi../sup 0/.
