This article examines flywheel energy accumulators made of the following combinations of composites: rim and spokes, glass-fiber-plastic; rim, glass-fiber-plastic; spokes, organic-fiber-plastic; rim and spokes, organic-fiber-plastic. Design formulas are presented for the given flywheel obtained from general relations with allowance for specific values of the quantities in the relations. Analyses of the data obtained establish that the limiting load-carrying capacity of the flywheel is determined by the strength of the spokes and rim in the circumferential direction, which changes negligibly with variation of the geometric parameters x and y.
