Current-limiting fuses: transformer through-fault protection

Current-limiting fuses can protect transformer through-faults as well as reduce equipment repair costs. A new through-fault guide separates faults into frequent and infrequent categories for fusing purposes. Many utilities are using power-class fuses with a higher X/R value that the usual general purpose distribution fuse. 2 figures, 1 table. (DCK)
