The papers presented in this volume focus on the performance and processing of polymer composites, with particular emphasis placed on damage, fracture defects, and the effects of processing on end use performance. Topics discussed include three-dimensional stress analysis of composite structures using isodyne techniques; failure of composite laminae under biaxial loading; delamination shape effects in aramid-epoxy-aluminum laminates with fatigue cracks; and processing and characterization of new bismaleimide matrix advanced composites. Papers are also presented on parameters affecting interlaminar stresses in tapered laminates under static loading conditions and effect of thermal history of the melt on crystallization kinetics.
