E-italic/sup +/e-italic/sup -/ annihilation into two mesons and a photon at high energies
The process of e-italic/sup +/e-italic/sup -/ annihilation into two mesons and a photon at large energies and relative momenta is considered in the framework of QCD perturbation theory. The distribution of the produced particles on a Dalitz plot depends significantly on the form of the meson wave functions, so that in principle this process might serve as a means of studying these wave functions. However, its cross section is found to be very small: for the pion wave function given by Chernyak and Zhytnitsky under the condition that the minimum virtuality is of the same order of magnitude as in the two-meson decays of charmonium, it is found that sigma(e-italic/sup +/e-italic/sup -/..--> pi../sup 0/..pi../sup 0/..gamma..)/sigma(e-italic/sup +/e-italic/sup -/..--> mu../sup +/..mu../sup -/) --10/sup -5/.
