Threshold eta photoproduction

A measurement of the total cross section for {eta}-meson photoproduction from light nuclei will determine the isotopic spin dependence of {l angle}{ital S}{sub 11}{vert bar}{ital j}{sub {ital e}{ital m}}{vert bar}{ital N}{r angle}. This acts as a test of models of SU{sub 6} breaking. Effects due to the subthreshold Roper resonance are computed and found to be small compared to an isoscalar {ital S}{sub 11} signal.
