This patent describes a battery. It comprises a container having an opening therein; a plate positioned in the opening a terminal attached to the plate and extending into the container; a sleeve concentrically positioned about the terminal a nonconductive seal positioned about the terminal against the plate and between the sleeve and the terminal and extending in substantially juxtaposition with the plate to about the periphery of the plate between the plate and the container in the opening, the sleeve being compressed about the terminal to seal the container at the terminal.
