Effective use of deadweight and dew point equipment

Conference · · Proc. Int. Sch. Hydrocarbon Meas.; (United States)
OSTI ID:5101595
The effective use of deadweight and dewpoint equipment is reviewed in this paper. Deadweight gauges are commonly used for the accurate measurement of gas or liquid pressures in pipe lines, refineries, petro-chemical plants, power plants, and in laboratories where accurate pressure measurement is required. Measurement principles are reviewed and the hydraulic Deadweight gauge is illustrated. It is suggested that this type of gauge operates on the principle of balancing a known mass against the force. Rules for use of Deadweight and Dew Point instruments are listed and discussed.
