Cross sections of the {sup 58}Ni(n,p){sup 58}Co, {sup 59}Co(n,p){sup 59}Fe, {sup 51}V(n,{alpha}){sup 48}Sc, and {sup 59}Co(n,2n){sup 58}Co reactions and isomer ratios for the {sup 58}Ni(n,p){sup 58}Co reaction were measured for some neutron energies between 9 and 14 MeV. Neutron spectrometry, with an NE-213 scintillation detector, of the beams from the D(d,n){sup 3}He reaction was used to evaluate the activation induced by breakup neutrons on natural nickel, cobalt, vanadium, and aluminum-monitor targets. The results are compared with earlier measurements and with theoretical calculations performed with the aid of the GNASH code (Hauser-Feschbach model including pre-equilibrium corrections).
