Qualitatively, the measured magnetic moments of the baryon octet match the SU(6) expectations. Inspired by the recent European Muon Collaboration data on the proton, we consider the effects upon the magnetic moments of having baryons whose quark content is not given by a symmetric SU(6) three-quark model but which have a polarized sea or ocean even when examined at low momentum transfers. We find that a significant amount of background'' can be added to the SU(6) three-quark model without harming the agreement between calculated and measured magnetic moments, and even improving it somewhat.
