A description is given of the techniques used in radionuclide studies of the brain, cerebrospinal fluid, heart, liver, and spleen of newborn patients at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto. Complete facilities for the newborn have been provided in the Nuclear Medicine unit to reduce the risk of transporting critically ill infants from the neonatal intensive care unit. Radiation dose has been minimized by careful calculation of the radiopharmaceutical used in the studies. (MFB)
