The increased size and complexity of the power plants being constructed have placed an ever increasing emphasis on cost and schedule control techniques. Oftentimes, contracts are awarded not so much on the technical competence of the constructor but more so on his ability to manage the project. Now, more than ever, management must be provided with the tools required to effectively and efficiently manage and thus allocate the resources required to construct the project. These tools can be provided by an integrated cost and schedule control system based on the work breakdown structure concept.
