Asynchronous procedures for parallel processing

Asynchronous procedures tend to be difficult to construct and difficult to analyze. To reduce these disadvantages the authors have developed concepts useful for asynchronous procedures. They discuss a model after which they may be patterned and introduce some new convergence results. Some illustrations of how to construct asynchronous procedures are presented. Finally, they discuss an important application area-contingency constrained optimum power flows. 24 references.
