Large- p sub T production of D -wave quarkonium states at hadron colliders

Large-{ital p}{sub {ital T}} production of {ital D}-wave quarkonium states is calculated, using a covariant formalism for the bound states. It is shown that, contrary to the case of {ital P} waves, {ital D}-wave production is not an important source of {ital J}/{psi} and {Upsilon} production at large {ital p}{sub {ital T}}.
