Stability of nonuniform supersonic flow in a hall MHD generator

In this paper, an analysis is presented of stability of quasi-one-dimensional supersonic flow of an equilibrium plasma in a Hall MHD generator with single load. A WKB-type analytical method for the calculation of discrete spectrum of eigen perturbations is developed. The sufficient conditions for the rise of acoustic and thermal instabilities of a nonuniform supersonic flow in Hall MHD channel in the presence of electrical back connection have been found.
