Microvariability and nonradial pulsations of the main-sequence star HD 21479

Journal Article · · Sov. Astron. Lett. (Engl. Transl.); (United States)
OSTI ID:5071540
Photoelectric observations show that the light of the normal main-sequence star HD 21479 is microvariable. The fluctuations are polyharmonic, with periods ranging from 16 to 147 min. Individual harmonics can be identified with the g/sub 1/, f, p/sub 1/--p/sub 14/ nonradial pulsation modes of the star, as described by spherical harmonics of order l=2.
