Cosurfactant influencing the thermostability of micellar dispersions
Patent
·
OSTI ID:5071144
Thermostability of a micellar dispersion containing hydrocarbon, aqueous medium, surfactant, and cosurfactant is shifted to higher temperature ranges by increasing the concentration of cosurfactant within the micellar dispersion. The micellar dispersion can optionally contain electrolyte. Such micellar dispersions are useful in recovering crude oil in a secondary or tertiary oil recovery process, especially where the temperature is in excess of ambient temperature. (15 claims)
