The objective of this study is to describe existing California coastal and offshore recreation and aesthetic resources and to determine the value of recreation activities to recreationists, the recreation industry, and local economies. Aesthetic resources include visual resources as well as other sensory experiences (i.e. hearing and smelling). The primary purpose of this study is to inventory coastal California recreation and aesthetic resources that may be affected by proposed OCS oil and gas development activities and to evaluate their significance.
