A theoretical analysis of a series of Fresnel lens collectors which are connected in parallel for tracking the sun to produce wet steam is presented. Equations which are derived for the efficiency of the Fresnel lens-target tube absorber combination (boiler efficiency), fluid temperature distribution, and the mass fraction of fluid vaporized (steam quality) at saturation temperature and pressure are verified experimentally using mass flow rates of 0.13, 0.16, and 0.19 lb/min and pressures of 45, 55, and 65 lb/sq in. The equations are found to predict with some precision the above parameters.
