Only the Albert Mines oil shale deposit, New Brunswick, has apparent near term potential for economic development. The geology of the deposit, potential reserves, and plans to modify a coal-fired power plant to cocombust coal and oil shales are described. Resource assessments are given of four other oil shale deposits: Collingwood, southern Ontario; Kettle Point, southwestern Ontario; Stellarite, Nova Scotia; and Boyne-Favel, Manitoba.
