/sup 181/Ta Mossbauer radiation sources of high specific activity

A method of preparing /sup 181/Ta Mossbauer radiation sources with a specific activity of 500 mCi/cm/sup 2/ has been developed; the method involves the /sup 181/W ..-->.. electron capture ..-->.. /sup 181/Ta reaction. /sup 181/W was obtained by irradiating Ta foils with the internal deuteron beam of a high-current cyclotron.
