A description is given of a metal vapor laser discharge tube comprising: an anode, a cathode, a laser capillary, a metal reservoir disposed at one end of said laser capillary between said anode and said laser capillary, an air-tight envelope enclosing said cathode and said laser capillary, and a condenser coaxial with said laser capillary and said cathode disposed in a discharge path between said laser capillary and said cathode for condensing metal vapor, said discharge path being formed inside said condenser.
