This paper describes the use of the alternate current potential drop (ACPD) as a method for measuring crack growth continuously throughout testing time, in double cantilever beam (DCB) specimens used for assessing the threshold stress concentration for sulfide stress corrosion cracking or K{sub ISSCC}. This methodology was used to assess the sulfide stress corrosion cracking (SSCC) susceptibility in different oil country tubular products (OCTG) grade steels in several conditions.
