Squeezed states of parametrically amplified light beams: quantum and classical squeezing

An analogy in the behavior of the quadrature components of quantum and classical noise amplified in a degenerate parametric amplifier is considered. A theory of generation of squeezed states of a light field from parametric interaction of the diffracting beams is developed.
