This patent describes an apparatus for isolating a set of perforations in a well conduit wall comprising a tubular assembly insertable by a tubing string into the well conduit carrying axially spaced lower and upper packer units. The lower packer unit is positionable in the well conduit below the perforations and the upper packer unit is thereby located above the perforations. The lower packer unit includes radially expandable means for lockingly engaging the conduit wall and a first annual seal axially compressible to sealingly engage the conduit wall. The upper packer unit includes a second annual seal axially compressible to sealingly engage the conduit wall. It also describes means responsive to tension in the tubing string to first position the radially expandable locking means in locking engagement with the conduit wall and then axially compress first annular seal to set the lower packet unit; and means operative after setting of the lower packer unit and responsive to additional tension in the tubing string for axially compressing the second annual seal to set the upper packet unit, thereby isolating the perforations.
