Synchronous luminescence screening for polynuclear aromatic compounds in environmental samples collected at a coal gasification process development unit

Journal Article · · Am. Ind. Hyg. Assoc. J.; (United States)
An evaluation of the synchronous luminescence screening technique for rapid analysis of environmental samples is described. Synchronous luminescence is employed to estimate the content of polynuclear aromatic species of product gas particulate samples, and the content in aqueous and solid waste samples collected at a coal gasification process development unit. The synchronous luminescence technique shows good agreement with results obtained by detailed gas chromatography/mass spectrometry and high-performance liquid chromatography.
