The Houston Regional Monitoring Corporation (HRM) has performed continuous ambient air quality and meteorological monitoring in east Harris County since August 1981. As an adjunct to its monitoring, HRM has funded extensive meteorological and statistical analyses of the ozone and meteorological data collected in Harris County. On several of the case study days, synoptic meteorological conditions played a major role in the development of the ozone episode. This paper presents the results of two of these unusual days. The days examined are 22 May 1983 and 11 April 1984.
