Conference on Atmospheric Radiation, 5th, Baltimore, MD, October 31-November 4, 1983, Preprints

Conference ·
OSTI ID:5028271
Among the topics discussed are the remote sensing of weather and climate parameters, limb sounding of the atmosphere, radiative entropy and the limits of remote temperature inferencing, the elimination of a major error component in satellite temperature soundings, microwave measurements of coastal sea surface temperatures, remote sensing of water vapor, clouds, aerosols, ozone, cloud radiation, and carbon monoxide, the role of atmospheric radiation in global climate models, and the atmospheric radiation effects of carbon dioxide. Also discussed are the climatic effects of cloud cover in view of satellite sensing studies, radiation measurements of aerosol absorption, insolation data for energy-related applications, the radiative effects of the El Chichon eruption, satellite sensor-based studies of the earth radiation budget, and atmospheric radiative transfer phenomena.
