Backscattering of electrons by free films and semiinfinite layers of solids

A theoretical analysis is made of the interaction of electrons with free films and semiinfinite layers of solids, with specific attention to copper and aluminum. The results are compared with the experimental data and a good agreement is obtained for the backscattering coefficients.(AIP)
