Using a beam stop source of {nu}{sub e} from stopped {mu}{sup +}A decay located at the Clinton B. Anderson Meson Physics Facility at the Los Alamos National Laboratory, a measurement of the reaction {nu}{sub e} + e{sup {minus}} {yields} {nu}{sub e}+e{sup {minus}} was performed. In the Weinberg-Salam-Glashow model of electroweak interactions, the above reaction is mediated both by the exchange of a Z boson (neutral-current) and the exchange of a W boson (charged-current), and is thus sensitive to the interference between these two exchanges. A total of 304 {plus minus} 49 {nu}{sub x}e events are identified of which 254 {plus minus} 50 are attributed to {nu}{sub e}e elastic scattering. The observed event rate rules out the opposite sign of the interference by 4.6{sigma} and is consistent with the interference predicted by the WSG model. The measured cross-section is {sigma}({nu}{sub e}e) = {vert bar}11.8 {plus minus} 2.5(stat) {plus minus} 1.2(syst){vert bar} {times} 10{sup {minus}42} cm{sup 2} {times} E{sub {nu}} (GeV) with a measured Weinberg angle of sin{sup 2}{Theta}{sub {omega}} = 0.31 {plus minus} 0.08 (stat) {plus minus}0.03(syst).
