/sup 181/Ta(p,t)/sup 179/Ta reaction: Evidence for particle-core coupling

The differential cross sections of tritons emitted in the /sup 181/Ta(p,t)/sup 179/Ta reaction have been measured at a bombarding energy of 19 MeV. The energy resolution was better than 15 keV. Thirty-eight levels in /sup 179/Ta were observed. A distorted wave program for two nucleon transfer was used to identify levels obtained with L = 0 transfer. A comparison with the corresponding L = 0 transfers in the /sup 180/Hf(p,t)/sup 178/Hf reaction shows evidence for quasiparticle-core coupling in 7/2/sup +/ states of /sup 179/Ta.
