Various small-angle experimental differential cross sections for the Xe 5[ital p][sup 6-]5[ital p][sup 5]([sup 2][ital P][sub 3/2])6[ital s] dipole-allowed transition have been contrasted through the generalized oscillator strength (GOS) and with the GOS from our recently constructed universal extrapolation function. We conclude that the Suzuki [ital et] [ital al]. [Phys. Rev. A 43, 5867 (1991)] measurement is more reliable and that for small momentum transfer squared, [ital K][sup 2]([le]0.05 a.u.), dynamical effects are unimportant.
