Streams and iteration in VAL additions to a data-flow language

This paper presents several proposals for modifications and extensions to the VAL language. First, we propose a modification of the iteration construct to improve readability. Second, we propose extensions to the language to allow streams. The stream additions enhance possibilities for pipeline concurrency and allow input and output to be specified.
