We investigate [pi][rho] scattering in the pseudoscalar ([pi]), vector ([omega]), and axial-vector ([ital A][sub 1]) channel using a model based on a [ital s]- as well as [ital t]-channel meson exchange. We start with the realistic case of a broad [rho] meson and illustrate the application of three-body methods in this approach. In a second step our calculation is simplified by treating the [rho] as a stable particle. Our model is adjusted to reproduce [omega]- and [ital A][sub 1]-resonance parameters and we are able to resolve in a natural way apparent discrepancies occurring in the analysis of the [ital A][sub 1].
