The vacuum ultraviolet photoionization mass spectrum of CH{sub 3}OF displays a prominent parent ion peak, whose adiabatic onset is 11.340{plus minus}0.008 eV, although much lower energy fragmentation processes (CH{sub 2}O{sup +}+HF, 8.0 eV; CH{sub 2}OH{sup +}+F, 9.3 eV) are possible. These lower energy processes have very low intensity. Two higher energy processes, to CH{sup +}{sub 3}+OF and CH{sub 2}O{sup +}+H+F, are observed. Their thresholds are used to determine {Delta}{ital H}{sup 0}{sub {ital f}0} (CH{sub 3}OF){ge}{minus}23.0{plus minus}0.7 kcal/mol, or {ital D}{sub 0} (CH{sub 3}O--F){le}47.4{plus minus}1.2 kcal/mol. CH{sub 2}OF{sup +} is a significant fragment, whose appearance energy leads to {Delta}{ital H}{sup 0}{sub {ital f}0} (CH{sub 2}OF{sup +}){approx}215.1{plus minus}0.8 kcal/mol.
