Molecular beam measurements of differential cross sections for the reaction D+H/sub 2/. -->. HD+H at E = 1. 0 eV

The angular and velocity distributions of HD formed in the cross molecular beam reaction D+H/sub 2/ have been measured at an effective center-of-mass energy of 1.0 eV. The results are compared with calculations based on quasiclassical trajectories for the Siegbahn--Liu--Truhlar--Horowitz potential. The calculations are in reasonable agreement with the experiment, which probes the potential energy surface at 0.85 eV in the repulsive saddle point region.
