As part of the {open_quotes}Deep-Seated Geothermal Resources Survey{close_quotes} (DSGR) project being undertaken by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), a {open_quotes}Multi-Frequency Array Induction Logging{close_quotes} tool (designated as {open_quotes}MAIL{close_quotes}) is being developed to more accurately resolve the resistivity structure around a wellbore. The MAIL tool is an induction logging device consisting of an array of five induction magnetometers (vertical components) and a vertical multi-frequency transmitter coil. This paper describes the MAIL tool design and presents analytical 1-D forward and inverse modeling results based on a cylindrical model used to simulate a well.
